Ranch News/History/Awards
North Texas Outfitters ("NTO") has now completed its 15th year! Our love and commitment to hunting continues to grow and is second to none. 2006/2007 has even been more eventful than last year. We have developed long lasting relationships with our hunters - some of them that hunted with us at earlier ages are now bringing their children to hunt. The professionalism and experience that we have can assure hunters at any level (whether first time hunters or the most serious trophy hunters) that the time spent hunting will be the best we can provide.
NTO for 2006-2007, had one hundred and eleven entries in the top 5 for the year in Trophy Game Records of the World. With the conclusion of this year NTO has produced 431 animals ranking in the top 5. Top ranches, outfitters, guides and hunters from across the world compete for the prestigious Trophy Game Records of the World awards. Awards are presented to Ranch/Preserve, Outfitter, Guide and to Hunters in all methods of collection. The methods of collection include archery, crossbow, handgun, primitive handgun, muzzleloader, in-line muzzleloader and modern arms. To receive one of the hunter of the year awards is an award of a lifetime. It is with much pleasure that we announce these hunters that hunted exclusively with NTO: Last but not least, the Hunter of the Year award is presented to the top hunter in all methods of collection combined. This prestigious award for the 2006-2007 hunting season was awarded to Mark Hedley! Great job and congratulations to each of these hunters! Previous awards by years: Don Wade - TGR Archery Hunter of the Year, 1995/1996 and 1996/1997; Don also received the North American Hunting Club President's Trophy Award in 1997; Christopher Wilshire - TGR Youth Hunter of the Year, 2002/2003; Carla Cowan - TGR Huntress of the Year, 2003/2004; Melanie Hedley - TGR Youth Huntress of the Year, 2004/2005; Matt Lavender - TGR In-line Muzzleloader of the Year, 2004/2005; Philip Lowry - TGR Modern Arms Hunter of the Year, 2004/2005; and Dr. Ron Lee 2005-2006 Archery Hunter of the Year. Paul Cantrell, owner of NTO, received Ranch/Preserve of the Year and Outfitter of the Year two years and one of NTO's guides, Don Wade, has received Guide of the Year for three years. For the past 15 years NTO has strived to produce top quality trophy animals and provide our hunters the very best hunts possible. We thank all our hunters and friends for their support. We invite hunters with all levels of hunting ability to come hunt with us at NTO and experience firsthand the fun and fellowship we have to offer. Thanks again and Happy Hunting from Paul Cantrell and the Staff of North Texas Outfitters! |
Nestled in the oak covered hills of North Central Texas, the hunts are conducted fair chase - on foot, safari style, or in stands (hunters choice). A combination of open pasture and thick brush offer excellent escape cover for animals and a challenge for the Hunter.
All hunts are fully guided. Our no-kill-no-pay policy guarantees the hunter will pay only for the game killed. In the event that no game is harvested, only a daily guide fee and lodge and meal expense will apply. We have a lodge that comes complete with Satellite TV. Also, we have rifle, pistol, archery and skeet ranges. We can accommodate up to 20 guests and 3 home-cooked meals are available. Meals and lodging are $95.00 per day at the ranch (includes 3 meals, cape & quartering, trophy prep and delivery to our taxidermist). Motel rooms are also available in nearby Jacksboro, Bridgeport, and Decatur. A walk-in cooler and a freezer is available for game storage.
You are welcome to hunt with rifle, bow, black powder, or handgun. Valid hunting license can be purchased at local locations. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required upon booking a hunt. We also accept all major credit cards. Our guides will insure a quality and safe hunting experience. We also can score your trophies for the Record of Exotics, Safari Club, and Trophy Records of the World. Our local taxidermists can take care of your trophy needs. |
